Security Systems We Install Across the Bronx

The list starts at the front door, where an intercom and a card reader decide who gets into the building. Any of these systems can be installed alone or connected to the others and managed from one app.

Intercoms

Audio and video entry panels for six-story walk-ups, elevator buildings and two-family houses, answered on apartment stations or on a phone. We also repair systems that another company put in.

Intercoms in the Bronx

Access control

Key fobs, cards and phone credentials for lobby doors, laundry rooms, parking gates and stockrooms. A lost fob gets deleted from the dashboard, and nobody has to change a lock.

Access control installation

Security cameras

Wired PoE cameras for lobbies, mailrooms, storefront gates, driveways and loading docks, recording to a local NVR that you can open from your phone.

Camera installation

Burglar alarms

Door contacts, motion detectors and glass-break sensors for houses and shops, with a keypad by the entrance and alerts on your phone.

Burglar alarm installation

Alarm monitoring

Around the clock, a central station answers each alarm signal and calls the police or the fire department, using a cellular path that stays up when the internet drops.

Alarm monitoring

System repair

We fix dead cameras, recorders that stopped saving video, readers that ignore fobs and alarms that go off for no clear reason, on our installations and on most other brands.

Who we work for

A Security Company Serving Every Kind of Bronx Property

Bronx housing runs from 1920s Art Deco elevator buildings to detached houses on the water, and each type calls for a different setup.

Grand Concourse · Highbridge · Riverdale · Pelham Parkway

Apartment buildings and co-ops

Prewar elevator buildings on the Concourse, rent-stabilized walk-ups in Highbridge and Tremont, co-ops in Riverdale and along Pelham Parkway. Managing agents get a lobby intercom, fob access on common doors, cameras over the mailboxes and package shelf, and a single login that covers several addresses.

Apartment building security

Throgs Neck · Country Club · Morris Park · City Island

Private houses

Detached and semi-detached homes in the East Bronx, many with a driveway, a side passage and a separate basement entrance. Cameras and alarm sensors cover each of those, and a video doorbell or a one-family intercom handles the front door.

Home security systems

Fordham Road · The Hub · Southern Blvd · Arthur Avenue

Stores and restaurants

Shops on Fordham Road, East 149th Street and White Plains Road, plus the bakeries, butchers and delis around Arthur Avenue. Cameras watch the register, the stockroom and the roll-down gate, and after closing the alarm reports straight to the monitoring station.

Retail security

Hunts Point · Port Morris · Jerome Avenue

Warehouses and industrial sites

Food distribution buildings in Hunts Point, warehouses in Port Morris and the auto shops under the Jerome Avenue el. Card readers at docks and yard gates record who came in and when, while long-range cameras reach the fence line and the truck lane.

Intercom Installation and Repair in the Bronx

In a six-story walk-up, a dead intercom sends tenants down to the lobby for every delivery and every visitor.

We replace aging audio buzzers with video panels that call apartment stations or tenants’ phones, and we wire the panel to an electric strike or maglock so the door releases each time someone presses the button upstairs. When the building’s original wiring tests clean, the new system runs over it and the hallway walls stay closed. Brands we install include Aiphone, ButterflyMX, Akuvox, Comelit and DoorKing.

Repair calls cover our own systems and most other makes. Typical faults are a single apartment that stopped ringing, a door that will not buzz open, audio full of hum, broken panel buttons or a system that has gone completely dark.

At the entrance we install

  • Video entry panels with a scrolling tenant directory
  • Apartment stations with video and a door release button
  • Phone-app answering with a log of every entry
  • Electric strikes, maglocks and closers sized for heavy steel doors
  • A fob reader built into the intercom panel
  • Audio-to-video upgrades over the existing riser wiring

For owners and managing agents of apartment buildings

New York’s Multiple Dwelling Law, section 50-a, requires a working intercom in many apartment buildings with eight or more units, and HPD enforces it. If the rule covers your building, a dead intercom can turn into a violation.

On the visit our technician finds which part failed, whether it is the panel, the door release, the power supply or the riser wiring, and hands you a written price for the fix.

Doors and gates we connect

  • Street and vestibule doors
  • Laundry, bike, trash and package rooms
  • Parking garage gates
  • Stockrooms, offices and server closets
  • Loading docks and roll-up doors

Access control

Access Control Installation in the Bronx

A metal key can be copied at any hardware counter, and a former tenant or employee may hold on to one for years. With access control, each person carries a fob, card or phone credential that you switch on or off from a dashboard, and the event log records which door opened at what time.

In apartment buildings we mount readers at the street door, the vestibule, the laundry and bike rooms and the parking gate. Businesses tend to begin with the front entrance, the stockroom and the office. Keri Systems, Rosslare and Paxton controllers run on local software with no yearly fee, while Brivo suits an owner who wants to manage several Bronx addresses from a browser.

Security cameras

Security Camera Installation in the Bronx

Before a camera goes up, we ask what its footage will need to show later: a face at the lobby door, a plate at the gate, a hand in the register. Cameras are wired on PoE to a recorder that keeps as many days of video as you choose, and the app puts every view on your phone.

  • Lobbies, mailrooms and package shelvesIn apartment buildings, one camera on the mailboxes and one on the package area help settle delivery complaints, and a third watches the entrance from inside.
  • Storefronts under the elAlong White Plains Road, Westchester Avenue and Jerome Avenue the elevated tracks shade the sidewalk and shake the facade. We pick low-light cameras and mount them firmly so the view stays steady when a train passes.
  • Driveways and back yardsHouses in Throgs Neck, Country Club and Morris Park get a driveway camera at plate height and coverage of the side passage and back door.
  • Homes near the waterOn City Island and the Throgs Neck shore, salt air corrodes unsealed housings and plain steel screws, so we use weather-rated cameras with stainless mounting hardware.
  • Docks and truck lanesHunts Point and Port Morris warehouses need long-range cameras on dock doors, the yard fence and the truck lane, with storage for the retention period your insurer or client sets.
  • Several buildings, one appOwners see every property’s cameras in one place, and user levels let a super watch live video without being able to export clips.

Gabriel and his team installed a new intercom system in my building. They are so professional and responsive. They did the job quickly yet with precision. It is such an improvement from what we had, I can't believe we waited so long to do it. I highly recommend Lock and Tech!

Hired this company to move our intercom system from inside to outside and also to install a new magnetic door lock on the outside glass door. This company did a great job and did a professional installation. They even helped us set up the AxTrax software for free to help manage access for our key-fob system. Recommended!!

FAQ

Questions About Security Systems in the Bronx

Do you have an office in the Bronx?

There is no Bronx storefront, since technicians drive to your property. The nearest Lock and Tech USA office is at 245 E 115th St in East Harlem, about ten blocks south of the Willis Avenue Bridge.

How much does intercom repair cost in the Bronx?

The price depends on the fault. Swapping a worn door strike or one apartment station takes a short visit, while tracing a broken riser through six floors takes longer. The technician finds the cause first and gives you the price before any work begins.

Can you add video to the old buzzer system in our building?

In most buildings, yes. A video panel goes in at the entrance and tenants answer on new apartment stations or on their phones. If the existing wires test clean we reuse them, which saves opening walls.

Can tenants let visitors in from their phones?

Cloud intercoms from ButterflyMX and Akuvox ring the tenant’s smartphone when a visitor presses the button. The tenant sees the caller on video and releases the door from the app, and the system keeps a record of each entry.

How many cameras does a small store need?

A shop on Fordham Road or White Plains Road typically starts with four: the entrance, the register, the stockroom door and the sidewalk in front of the gate. Bigger stores add a camera for each aisle or room.

Do you work with managers who run several buildings?

We can standardize the intercom and access hardware across your Bronx addresses, put them under one cloud account and prepare a separate proposal for each building.

What warranty comes with an installation?

You get three years on workmanship and 12 months on electrical components, with parts and labor covered under both.
